Faculty
Carol Yeung — Alignment, Hatha, Power, Vinyasa, Prenatal
Carol's passion for yoga began in 2013, when she first tried yoga as a means to balance her busy schedule. Moved by yoga's ability to bring peace and tranquillity to her hectic life in Hong Kong, Carol felt a calling to share the gift of yoga with others. Not only had yoga provided her with a means by which she could find balance, it also gave her a new direction: teaching.
Carol completed her first 200-hour teacher training under Patrick Creelman in January 2015. She has since obtained additional training credentials to teach prenatal yoga and yoga for children. Since teaching in 2015, Carol has encouraged many students to continue doing the work and improving their practice. After completing the 300-hour WildLotus Advanced Teacher Training, Carol co-founded The Practice Studio, a space where she hopes her students can practise consistently in a safe environment. She strongly believes in the motto of 'Do the Work' — to put in consistent and steady effort and to listen to one's own body. She hopes everyone at the studio can achieve a stronger physical body and better mind-body connection, bringing tranquillity and peace to their lives.

FAQ
What can I learn in this Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Course that I won't learn elsewhere?
The course has an elaborate focus on pregnancy anatomy, its yogic view, and how yoga contributes to the labour process. We teach the basic and practical knowledge required to apply yoga tools that benefit both the mother's and the child's well-being. Students also receive a lot of interactive, practical sessions with the faculty. You learn the poses, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation techniques that are specifically modified for pregnancy.
Can I enrol in this course even though I'm pregnant?
The Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Course is a beginner's course and does not involve intensive yoga practice. If you don't have any pregnancy complications, this can be a perfect opportunity to learn and experience prenatal yoga. We have had pregnant women take up and successfully complete the course before.
Can men attend this prenatal yoga course?
Yes, of course. You don't have to be a female teacher to teach a pregnant woman. Anyone can learn the knowledge and apply it safely to pregnant women.
Will I be able to teach at The Practice after graduating from this programme?
The Practice is always open to applications and supports graduates from our programmes. Any graduates who apply with us are kept in our database and advised if there are openings available.
Will The Practice help with my Yoga Alliance application?
Our programmes and our school are Yoga Alliance accredited, meaning that students graduating from our programmes will be automatically approved when they apply to Yoga Alliance. From there, students take their own steps in applying to Yoga Alliance — whether for 200-hour certification, 500-hour or so forth.
If I miss one day, will I be able to make it up?
Students undergoing this programme must be fully committed and understand that 100% full attendance is required. They must also be willing to forgo most other personal or professional commitments for the duration of the programme — only with 100% attendance and completion of the course will students receive a certificate, and no make-up of work will be given. Should there be any problems with this, students must speak with the faculty prior to the course, and only under very special circumstances will it be considered.
Will I receive a certificate after the programme?
Upon successful completion, 100% attendance and following the code of conduct, students will receive a Certificate of Completion from The Practice for this teacher training programme.
